About Me:
For anyone that hasn't used my business before or doesn't know who I am well my name is Gayle Lebond-Carroll proud owner of Windysmith Photography.
I have always had a passion for photography although I wasn't fortunate enough to have a camera as a young child or young adult, a family member gave me an old film Zenith camera which I still have to this day, I began just using it to document my children growing up and the adventures we had, when my girls got older I decided at 40 years old that I was going to go to university and do a degree in photography, this had some very good highlights into the photography world but I actually found that the best thing for me was get out and use the camera, but oh boy did I make some mistakes along the way but you know what it actually taught me some valuable lessons especially in the days of film and then developing the images, this was a fun time learning both through the camera and the processing of the images in the dark room in my early years at college night school when the girls were growing up.
Fast forward to the digital era which was another learning curve, if I am honest me and Photoshop have a mutual hate for each other in some ways but it is definitely a good tool to use, personally I am a firm believer that if you capture the image correctly in camera you will have very little post editing to do afterwards so on that principle that has always been my aim.
Since becoming disabled a couple of years ago I have had to diversify a little and rethink how I continued with the passion that I loved before and after the disability came along.
I have had to make several changes to my work load and also within the studio and have had to rethinking how best to carry on doing the various shoots that I offer, fortunately this has finally been completed (although I am sure there will be more alterations to come) and my studio life can go on without causing much discomfort to myself but still offering my clients past, present and future the quality and value for money shoots like I have previously.
This past year has been very testing and I have had many a battle with myself deliberating whether I could carry on doing what I love, hopefully now that I am raring to go again full steam ahead I can continue to grow the business and create many more memories that will last a lifetime.
Please be assured that you will still receive the same professional value for money that Windysmith Photography has always provided.
Hope you all like the photo of me in my finest, my talented grandson who is loving photography too and is very keen to learn took this image in the studio, watch this space he will his own page once he has built up a portfolio to showcase his work.
Love Gayle xx
